I want to share with you the incredible journey I had during the summer social practice titled "Building Dreams in Long County, Passing on Culture, Youth Cultivating the Future" organized by Chang'an University in Baoji, Shaanxi.
From July 10th to July 17th, under the guidance of our mentors, Zhou Ping, Zhang Junqing, and Yang Zhengyou, we embarked on a profound learning and exploration journey.
This summer social practice lasted for 7 days, focusing on four main aspects: appreciating significant national achievements, paying tribute to revolutionary martyrs, visiting green industries, and tracing rural development trajectories. Throughout this journey, our horizons expanded, our experiences enriched, and our beliefs strengthened. We actively promoted Baoji's culture and made significant contributions to rural revitalization through practical actions.
Witnessing Industrial Transformation, Admiring National Achievements
Our journey commenced on July 10th, where we visited the Changle Yanzhi Industrial Heritage Site and the Baoji Bronze Museum. We delved deep into the arduous industrial history during the war and appreciated the profoundness of bronze culture. Engaging with local experts, we discussed the importance of cultural inheritance and innovation, contributing our own thoughts and actions to protecting and passing on excellent Chinese culture.
Inheriting Railway Spirit, Sharing Revolutionary Stories
On July 12th, we visited the Baotian Railway Martyrs Memorial Hall in Weibin District, Baoji City, where we engaged in immersive learning. The museum guides provided detailed insights into the history and construction process of the Baotian Railway, showcasing the sacrifices made by the 19th Army Corps and the Shaanxi Military Region. Reflecting on the glorious deeds of revolutionary heroes at the museum inspired us to pursue excellence and progress in our future endeavors.
Exploring Green Industries, Supporting Rural Revitalization
From July 13th to 16th, we visited the Xinchang Vegetable Professional Cooperative and the Shaanxi Heshi Cold Pasture Industry Co., Ltd. to understand the roles of smart agriculture and modern animal husbandry in rural revitalization. At the Xinchang Vegetable Cooperative, we witnessed the entire process of intelligent agricultural production and shared experiences in planting and management with cooperative leaders. At Heshi Cold Pasture Industry, we experienced scientific animal husbandry and intelligent technology firsthand. Through these experiences, we became more convinced that smart agriculture and modern animal husbandry will inject new vitality into rural revitalization.
Exploring Rural Development Models, Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress
On the final day, we visited the Guguan Ancient Town, located on the eastern side of the Guanshan Mountains in Long County, which serves as an educational practice base for national unity and progress co-built by Chang'an University and Guguan Village. Guguan Village is famous for its ethnic minority characteristics, and our interaction with the village branch secretary showcased the charm of ethnic integration. Through village visits, we witnessed the positive changes brought about by rural tourism development, deeply understanding the wisdom and efforts behind rural development. After completing our tasks, we realized our mission in rural revitalization and vowed to translate our learning into practical actions, contributing to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Throughout this social practice journey, we returned to Xi'an as planned, carrying with us enriched experiences and profound insights. Focusing on local villages, delving into the fields, and actively discussing with our mentors, we offered suggestions for local development, injecting youthful energy into rural revitalization and blossoming our youth on the road to realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
